Our Wripple marketplace is made up of talented professionals from all different backgrounds. Their dedication and passion make all the difference. This month, we are very excited to spotlight Talid Magdi, an award-winning video producer. He's been the creative force behind a number of major TV Networks.

First, tell us a little bit about your background. Where are you from, and what kind of work do you do?

I was born in Cairo, and have lived in Paris, Morocco, Tunisia, Los Angeles, Knoxville, and now Atlanta. I am fluent in English, Arabic, and French which allowed me to immerse myself in so many incredible cultures. I am a Producer, Director, Writer, and Video Editor. My passion and love for storytelling have led me to where I am today.

For the past 18 years, I’ve produced long- and short-form content.

I’ve done broadcast, digital, and editorial content for big brands like HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, and CNN International. I’ve spearheaded numerous content campaigns, using creative and engaging storytelling techniques to captivate audiences, connect with target demographics, and deliver key messaging in a seamless and authentic manner.

What do you love most about your work?

The people I’ve met throughout my career—on set, in the office, or on location. I’ve had the privilege to work with and learn from the best in my industry.

What are the highlights of your career thus far?

Winning two Edward R. Murrow awards for two short documentaries that I produced, wrote, and edited with three of my team members. Another highlight would be my CNN International coverage of the absence of Gay Pride during the pandemic.

What are the top 2-3 ingredients for a team to succeed on a project?

  1. Collaboration
  2. Mutual Respect
  3. Fun

What would you do if you weren’t a producer/director?

A Real Estate Agent: During my time with HGTV, my passion for design and homes allowed me to help make people’s dreams come true through home renovations.

I’m excited to have passed the GA Real Estate Exam and I’m now a licensed Real Estate Agent! But, I plan to continue doing freelance production and editing work because I have so much passion for it. One day, I hope to mix these two worlds together.

Why are you so awesome at your job? :)

I have so much passion for what I do, it’s not just a job to me. I love being around people and having fun. I want everyone to look forward to coming on set when I’m the producer/director.

Anything else you'd like to share? Maybe a hobby, community involvement, or special recognition?

I love riding my bike at least twice a day :)
