Yvethe Blackmore brings curiosity, creative problem-solving, and plenty of energy to her work as a marketing strategist. From navigating complex projects to helping clients launch faster, she pairs a fresh perspective with the determination to get things done. We caught up with Yvethe to learn about her approach, a recent client win, and the community work that keeps her inspired outside of marketing.
How did you get into what you do—and what has shaped the kind of work you do today?
For as long as I can remember, I loved envisioning creative enhancements to marketing materials and TV commercials! That transformed throughout the years as my experience grew in different areas in marketing, but I have been lucky enough to always know that I loved this area of work. At its core, it’s always been about finding ways to creatively connect with people through products, services, and people.
Today, my work is largely about guiding clients and executing effectively. The number of tools and technologies available can feel overwhelming and staying on-brand while taking risks and nurturing client relationships is increasingly important for differentiation. I help clients stay true to who they are and what they offer while choosing the right tools, building community, and testing different tactics, campaigns, and technologies with calculated risks.
What’s a recent project or client win you’re especially proud of?
I recently worked with a financial company and was able to complete about nine months of work in around three months, helping the client launch faster without adding a full-time hire.
Having an outside perspective to evaluate a marketing strategy, get buy-in on adjustments, and execute quickly and efficiently can save money and time. I really enjoy the work, and clients appreciate the grit, determination, and precision I bring to the table.
What’s something you bring to a project that might not be obvious from your résumé or portfolio?
Most people would say I’m a creative problem solver and ‘gritty’ in addition to asking the right questions to get us to a place where we might not have thought of originally.
Being curious and having worked across so many areas of an organization, as well as different industries, gives me a broader perspective. I’m not afraid to ask the obvious, unasked question that could really elevate a campaign, project, or launch.
What kind of work gets you excited to dive in?
I get excited about marketing in general! Most people who have worked with me would say that I have a lot of energy, so that’s more or less my baseline. I especially enjoy highly complex projects and product launches.
What’s something we should know about you outside of your day-to-day work?
I focus on one local initiative to support, which in my case is education. I’m vice president of a PTA and chair a Business & Education committee for a local chamber. I really enjoy this work because it gives me an opportunity to serve local schools in dynamic ways through partnerships with businesses and local officials, as well as creative programming.
I’m a mom of two creative and energetic boys, and I also spend time in our local theatre community!
